MISSION

The Mission of
Westchester Chapel is to be:

"A picture of Biblical Christian community, abandoned to the Lord God Almighty, making disciples and destroying strongholds."

GOD'S WORD AS TRUTH

"And he humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord." (Deut. 8:3 ESV)  "I will meditate on your precepts and fix my eyes on your ways. I will delight in your statutes; I will not forget your word."
(Psalm 119:15-16 ESV)

CHRIST-CENTERED

"Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, and said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. (Luke 24:45-47 ESV)  He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth...(Colossians 1:15 ESV)

COMMUNITY

"And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers."  (Acts 2:42 ESV) "Now there were in the church at Antioch prophets and teachers... While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” Then after fasting and praying they laid their hands on them and sent them off." (Acts 13:1-3 ESV).

ABANDONED TO GOD

“Now therefore fear the Lord and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness. Put away the gods that your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. (Joshua 24:14-15 ESV) "While walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon (who is called Peter) and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen. And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”  Immediately they left their nets and followed him." (Matthew 4:18-20 ESV)

MAKING DISCIPLES

"After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector by the name of Levi sitting at his tax booth. “Follow me,”Jesus said to him, and Levi got up, left everything and followed him. (Luke 5:27-28 ESV) "And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20 ESV)

DESTROYING STRONGHOLDS

"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. (Ephesians 6:10-13 ESV)
